Pastor Training

Morell School of Ministry, Evangelism, and Discipleship

It is a true saying that if a man wants to be a pastor he has a good ambition.  For a pastor must be a good man whose life cannot be spoken against.  I Tim 3:1-2a.

The school trains local pastors who already pastor a church but are in need of education in theology, discipleship, leadership, counseling, and teaching.  These pastors have little education and very little income.  They are selected for the two year training program on the basis of their need and dedication to proclaim God’s word and live committed to Him.  The curriculum is based on the Bible Training Centre for Pastors (BTCP) series of ten books.

The pastors come to the Bridges International Development training center in Meru, Kenya where they are taught, housed and fed for one week each month for two years.  Since the school is not in session during July and December, a total 20 sessions are taught over the two year period.

Pastor Jackson Karangu is the Senior Instructor at the Morell School who has taught this curriculum for more than 13 years.  Since its inception, there have been about 1,100 pastors trained at the school.  Currently 37 pastors in training at the Morell School.  This group of pastors will be graduating in November and another class will be starting in January 2012.  Pastor Jackson is assisted by Pastor Shadrack Kirema, another experienced pastor and teacher.

Pastor Jackson reports that, “All the pastors from the classes are very grateful to the Lord for the far they have gone.  They have sincerely believed and seen it practically that God makes a way where there seems to be no way.  They feel greatly honored for the support they been offered at Bridges International Development.”
