Two “Rite of Purity Passage” trainings were conducted in December in Kenya.  These two coming of age training programs were attended by 66 girls and 104 mothers and grandmothers.  This training and ceremony is a Christian alternative for the female circumcision(FGM) that usually takes place during school break in December.  This training was done with the assistance of Mrs. Kaberia of the Maua Methodist Hospital, Mama Faith of the  Mukithemi Medical Clinic, and Sarah Mike of Bridges International Development, Kenya.  The girls were taught in subjects such as; the human body, puberty, emotional changes, menstration, pregnancy, hygiene, sexual diseases, HIV aids, personal rights, Biblical views, and introduction into adulthood.
